- Join Chief Guanabana Omar Samra on an exploratory trek in a remote part of the Annapurna region
- This is an opportunity to escape Nepal's tourist trails and venture into the deep and high alpine forests to the base of the sacred mountain, Machapuchare.
- We ascend through Hindu villages, pristine magnolia, oak and rhododendron forests to local tea houses that offer captivating snow-capped views of the magnificent Annapurna Range.
- We culminate the trip at the base camp of Mardi Himal before a returning via traditional Gurung villages to the lake side city of Pokhara.

Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu - [1,338m]:
Upon your arrival, a representative from Wild Guanabana will be waiting outside the airport gates to take you to the hotel in Lazimpat area, just a stone throw away from the bustling area of Thamel. Depending on the time of arrival of the entire group, we may conduct a briefing this evening or the next morning. For those arriving early, there will be a chance to explore Kathmandu. Please let us know if you need any tips on what to do around town. Remember there is also a chance to explore when you’re back from your trek.
Day 2: Drive To Pokhara [830m] - (B):
Early in the morning, we drive from Kathmandu towards Pokhara, Nepal's lake city. Our bus follows a winding road over the valley rim and descends onto the Trisuli River. We will stop on the way to experience an exhilarating white-water rafting experience. The difficulty level will depend on the amount of rainfall in recent weeks but it is usually of easy to moderate level. After the rafting ends we will have a simple lunch then the bus journey continues through villages and passing terrace fields before reaching our destination. Pokhara is best known for its tranquil atmosphere and the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Normally, we arrive late afternoon so you have time to explore or relax as you prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 3: Drive to Hyangja - Trek To Dhampus [1,750m]: - (B/L/D):
After breakfast we hop on a bus for an hour to Hyangja and then begin walking towards Milan Chock. We trek up the spectacular ridge above the Yangri Khola Valley passing through Hyengjakot and Dhital villages before spending the night in Dhampus at a simple teahouse. Here, the vantage point ensures incredible Himalayan mountain views. 30 Minute drive - 4 to 5 hours Trek.
Day 4: Trek To Forest Camp [2,550m] - (B/L/D):
If you’re inclined to wake up early, you should be able to experience a spectacular sunrise with the holy mountain of Machapuchare, also known as Fishtail, turn from pink to gold while the steep rock face of Annapurna II stays in the shadows. Today we leave the tourist trail and begin our secret trail into a magical forest of birch, giant rhododendron, mountain oak, maple, hemlock and daphnia. We spend the night at a simple teahouse at Forest Camp. 4 to 5 hours Trek.
Day 5: Trek to Mardi Himal Low Camp [3,400m] - (B/L/D):
After an early morning breakfast, we begin to trek higher into the mountains and a cloud forest with mosses and lichen, tree ferns and orchids. Sometimes the canopy of the tree covers the view and other times we can catch glimpses of the majestic mountains between the greenery. We hike further towards the village of Hiunchuli and then the great peak of Annapurna South. Far below, we can see the Modi Khola Valley leading up into the Annapurna Sanctuary. We reach our chosen teahouse by mid afternoon, giving us time to experience more breathtaking views of some of the greater Himalayan mountains of the region. 04-05 hrs Trek.
Day 6: Trek To Mardi Himal High Camp [4,100m] - (B/L/D):
We have breakfast while appreciating the stunning views of the majestic mountains higher up. A short yet steep climb takes out of the forest canopy and into the more rugged alpine regions. Depending on conditions we may find ourselves walking through patches of snow here. When we finally get to Mardi Himal High Camp the views become even more captivating as we get closer to the Annapurna ranges and Machhapuchare. From here it feels like we can touch the clouds. We spend the night at a local teahouse. 4 to 5 hours Trek.
Day 7: Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp [5,000m] – Trek to High Camp [4,100m] - (B/L/D):
We will get an earlier start than usual today beginning with breakfast. Depending on weather and particularly snow conditions, we should be able to hike up to 5,000m with the ridge of Mardi Himal itself being the only thing separating us from the south face of Machhapuchare. The overwhelming ice fields and blue glaciers lie below. The biggest mountain in the vicinity, Annapurna I, dominates the horizon. But this is not the only peak in view; from Dhaulagiri to the Ganesh Himal, there are more than a dozen snow-capped giants towering above us. We will take some time to appreciate the view, have our packed lunch then begin our journey back to Mardi Himal High Camp. We may descend even further if the conditions are less favorable. 5 to 6 hours Trek.
Day 8: Trek to Siding [1,750m] - (B/L/D):
After a relaxed breakfast, we gradually descend through a different route to the forest and back onto the terraced fields. As the day progresses, we get closer to the valley and the quaint atmosphere of Nepali countryside with its simple villages. As we get closer we can begin to hear the sweet sounds of the Mardi Khola. We hug the banks of the river, often crossing bridges, through lush farmlands until we reach our final destination where we spend the night in a simple teahouse. 6 to 7 hours Trek.
Day 9: Trek to Pokhara [830m] - (B/L):
After another relaxed breakfast in the mountains, we begin hiking towards civilization. The path follows the contours of the valley and river, through typical Tamang and Gurung villages. Finally our transport will be waiting for us at the trail head to transport us back to Pokhara where we can enjoy a hearty meal and congratulate ourselves on a challenge well done. 6 hrs Trek.
Day 10: Fly to Kathmandu - (B):
After breakfast in Pokhara, we drive to the airport and catch our morning flight to Kathmandu. We head back to our Kathamdnu hotel then we have the rest of the day and evening to relax and do some shopping. Again, let us know if you need any tips and if you would like to extend your stay. We can happily arrange that.
Day 11: Homeward Bound [1,330m] - (B):
We will transfer you to the airport depending on your given flight time.

- Accommodation (Hotel Manaslu, Tibet or Manang in Kathmandu. Hotel Peninsula in Pokhara)
- Accommodation in teahouses (mountain lodge) during the trek
